I had this in the Tivo queue for weeks and couldn't get the bf to watch this, so I deleted it. Then the other night he sees that it's on and decided we'd watch it.

"Slither"

I highly recommend this one, for those of you who haven't heard of it. Best Use of an Air Supply song, ever.

Let's see, it's got the guy from 'Firefly' in it. The girl from the 'Spider-Man' movies in it. The girl from 'The Office' has a tiny part. Hell yeah, I like 'Slither'!

Yeah, Elizabeth Banks is one amazing-looking woman, ain't she? And I would personally run across a multi-lane freeway for Nathan Fillion. He's like a much more buff Jason Bateman. He also does that same dry-wit delivery thing he does as Mal in "Firefly" in this one.

The director/writer, James Gunn, is working on this:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1082807/ currently. He's got an interesting background, having worked on such things as "Tromeo and Juliet" and "The Tromaville Cafe". I'll excuse him the two "Scooby Doo" offerings listed on his imdb page.

Wasn't this the result of Project Greenlight or something like that? I seem to remember it being a part of a film contest... but yeah it's definately high on the gross factor with horror/sci fi mixed in... ************** possible spoiler***************

I liked the hive mind alien twist. Too often the "Monsters" in horror movies are a result of our own environmental negligence, the space route is a nice change of pace.

What I enjoyed with this one, is this total non-Hollywood feeling, like I got with "Super Troopers", and "Harold and Kumar". I suppose because Hollywood tends to be repetitive and copies its own successes way too much, insofar as horror films and comedies go. There's just an aesthetic to certain movies that's refreshing.
