This one is actually not all that obscure; the director is actually fairly well-known, although I can’t recall his name (duh). I actually thought it might be Roger Corman (he’s of that ilk), but a search of IMDB seems to suggest not. It would have been made in the mid-late ‘50s, certainly no later than the very early 60s. The plot: A psychiatrist hypnotizes a young woman (I believe she’s a prostitute) and regresses her to a “past life” in which she was accused as a witch and subsequently burned at the stake. Through some inexplicable plot event, the modern woman’s “interference” in the accused witch’s life creates a situation in which the witch can potentially escape her fate, which she nearly does, except that somehow, this will result in a rift in the time-space continuum whereby none of the her subsequent reincarnations – including the hooker — will ever be born. Realizing this, the doomed woman heroically allows herself to be executed, and the 20th century woman is so moved by this selfless act that she resolves to become a better person.
Or something.
I saw this movie on Chiller Theater on WPIX in New York in around 1975 and I can still remember the details pretty clearly. Just not the title. Anyone?
Fuckin' PIX! I forgot about that. Remember the after-school kiddie time with that crap asteroids-like videogame and the caller would be like "Pix - Pix - - -Pix" to shoot shit? Or am just old?
Don't worry, I remember Smirk. In fact, back home in Rochester, I think we sponged the idea off WPIX and kids would have to do with same thing, but yell, "Pow! Pow! Pow!".
Yo guys...shouldn't we at least try to find out what the title is.....Kickboxer has been used to death......Don't worry it's Javagirl20 to the rescue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm lame I know.
So I've found it and I know I'm good...I'm amazing. Roseyv

...we have been getting that "help me with the title of this movie" schtick for years. That was a good catch, but most of us here could do that in our sleep, we just stopped caring years ago. I have not been here in....a long time, and I have to say I was surprised there was not more of that here still. Hang out, chat about movies, but don't be afraid to poke fun at the people who come here and (using terrible grammar most of the time) ask us about movie titles. Most of them never come back to find out the answer anyway.
Hahaha That's so funny, really if you only knew me you'd know that I'm not, LOL. I liked that comment though Bonnie. Most of the time I'm just thinking I'm funny, but if other's see different than I'll stop my menacing ways.........or I won't, because really I like to think that I'm funny.
Movies are my life.
Sarah,22,female, Canadian LOL is it a Canadian thing? hhahah.
Going to University at the moment, studying Film, and studying Mandarin Chinese on the side, Nimen Hao Ma?
I won't admit that I'm a movie buff, but I've seen a bunch of them in my nearly 30 years of life (even sat through "Amityville Horror" in 3D, while tripping on a bottle of Robitussin). I still didn't like it though.
That should have been a good movie going, no matter what the movie was.
As for asking the bored if they know what movie titles are, it's ok. Sometimes IMDB hasn't got the answers. Sometimes we just don't remember the names of the lead actor/actresses, or watched too long ago to remember.
I for one, can't remember a damn thing about "Time Bandits", but I knew I liked it back then.
