$27,696 opening weekend. Awesome. Although it was only on 111 screens. What, that's 2,770 people who saw the movie. Divided by 111 is... like 25 people per theatre. Again, awesome.

What I love about Yahoo!'s movie site is the user-reviews. I am quite impressed by the number of users claiming to have really liked the movie (I've not seen it myself, so shall not judge, but critical consensus seems to be that it's tripe). Anyway, here's a favourite example of bizarrely off-the-scale reviews:

"I'm still trembling with the utter greatness of this movie. It is truly a cinematic masterpiece equal to that of "Citizen Kane." I am most likely going to be hated for giving such a review, but i doubt any body actually saw the movie, they just whizzed right by it when they saw that it had paris hilton in i, but that is the genius of it. She is truly an incredible actor that portrays her characters with such sensarity that your truly can connect with her as if you have known her for several years. the story line direction and everything in general is truly an masterpiece, definitely a contender for the 2009 oscars"

I'm not kidding, you can check yourself on the site. I guess some are just harder to please than others :P
