Yeah man that's a blower.... Joox is still going strong though. I can't seem to find a "There will be blood" though. I just d/led Joost which is an app you install on your desktop and can stream videos for free and legally. Watched a bunch of old Ren and Stimpy cartoons, made it worth my while. What rolls down stairs alone or in pairs....
Somebody who's smarter than me please explain this.
So, Xbox360 and PS3 are both compatible with Divx files, and will play them off a drive. A ton of the upconvert DVD players out there are also "Divx compatible", which is actually used as a marketing gimmick and will play Divx files off of a burned DVD, or, if the player has a port, off a flash drive.
So, Divx has spent a ton of money and gotten all these company's to jump on board with their format, hardware-wise, yet as far as I know, the only place to get Divx files was Stage 6. Is there another place to get Divx files that I am unaware of? Isn't shutting down Stage 6 pretty much killing their format since without it there is absolutely no content?
Most of the files you download via P2P or torrents are in Divx quality if they've been ripped from DVD. There are a bunch of other sites that host Divx movies too, such as Joox.net. Pretty much any decent quality video you d/l from the web is Divx. There are other formats but IMO Divx has the most bang for your buck (in this case bandwidth and time usage)
