Wouldn't it be nice to see a movie based on the novel "War Of The Worlds?" Oh, I've seen a few movies that use the title but none have ever told the story. Sadly, the closest (but not cigar-earning) version was broadcast on radio nearly 70 years ago. As of yet, not one creative team has ever competently adapted Wells' book.
Also, in the original pencil drawings for the manuscript, the alien tripods looked like cylindrical water towers with cone-shaped tops. They were anti-scary.
Houston is a terrible, terrible city.

The chances of anything coming from Mars were a million to one they said!
I was growing up in British military quarters in Germany during the '70s. I was surrounded by Queen, Bowie, Rod Stewart, and The Bay City Rollers. This thing managerd to work it's way in there. We had it on an 8-track for listening in the Superbeetle.
