Trying to save a little money and ordered this thing today. Going to get the cheapie Netflix plan, $8.99, per month, one movie out, unlimited on-demand movies, and disconnect the cable for a while which I'm currently paying about $80 a month for. The kids are watching too much shit anyway. My 14 yo girl has been DVRing America's Next Top Model, which is entertaining in its own shitty way, but a whole afternoon spent episode after bulimic episode is just not good. My 10 yo boy watches too much cartoon network. They have some decent stuff, but for the most part all that Pokemon and Dragonball Z is just shit.

We will still have all the major networks over the air in HD. I think the only thing I will really miss is HDNet and the HDMovies channels.

I will keep you all posted on how well this little machine works. I ordered the HDMI cable for it for an extra $19.99 in hopes that it might live up to some semblance of decent picture quality.

Let us know.... sounds like a good plan, especially to reduce TV watching with thy youngsters...

Too bad about the hdmi cable

Next time order one from www.monoprice.com. Digital is digital, it's either going to work, or it isn't. A gold plated hdmi cable from MonsterCable is not going to give you a better picture than the cheapest hdmi cable.
