It is my understanding that it's the 3-D that really sells this movie, but you're right, no money shot. It looks nice, but not light years ahead of humanity. It doesn't look that much ahead of the curve of that nonsense Zemeckis has kept himself occupied with instead of making real movies. And I'm only saying this based on this one trailer, but I can't imagine that this is a movie that would appeal to the masses to justify it's massive budget.
...at San Diego Comic-con. They worshipped Camereon there. Sigorney Weaver, "I'm not a terminator" australian dude, the black girl who plays the blue girl, and the military guy were all on the panel.
Any-who. The 3D effects were good and so were the animations. The facial expression in particular looked very expressive and real. However I got the feeling that if you took dark crystal, dances with wolves, and the smurfs together and mixed it up in a blender, you'd have someting like Avatar. It all seemed kind of already done. I'll definitely go see the movie, but I don't know how mind blowing revolutionary it will be.
I heard that the movie begins when they land and find alien eggs but people become the aliens this time, then a huge battle against aliens takes place and this all happens on a sinking ship.
Sounds like a typical James Cameron movie to me.
Avatar better live up to the hype.... Please live up to the hype, because not many do.
