I don't much care for Elija Wood, but I might go see the movie.

Tim Burton movies rarely do get good initial reviews.

But you know how that story goes.

He always seems to miss the cinema target.

Willing to bet that it's going to quickly become another animated classic, and a cult one too.

Pretty sure Burton only has a producer credit on here.

It's no good, the dialogue is horrible. It's the definitio of style over substance. I did appreciate the many nightmares kids will get from it tho, I'm sick of kid's movies (and yes this is a fuckin kids movie) without balls.

That's crazy I was totally ready to call this his return to fame. I guess his misses continue to mount.

Okay at best. If visuals were everything it would be aces, but it's just alright.

I do have to disagree on it being a movie for kids, at least little ones. None of it is happy, it's dark and depressing, the images will give the youngins nightmares, and all messages and themes are decidedly adult (however tired they may be).

It was ok. They tried to stretch the short into a feature film and failed fill in plot holes. Check out the short. It is similar in content and style.

If you like the idea of sock puppets fighting animal-robot thingies, then you'll dig this flick. Just don't read too much into it because none of the movie really makes any sense.

Agreed. Although it was made from a short, DAMN was it rushed. Hate to say it, but it could and should have been made longer to cover the plot holes.
