Hey, when I'm wrong I'm wrong.
It was pretty entertaining stuff. The overwhelming praise motivated me to go see it. And they're mostly right. The best thing they could have done is ditch the dopey street racing backdrop. It's almost entirely removed from the movie. This is essentially an Ocean's flick. The action is great, and the stunt work is fantastic. Real stunts, real cars. Old school movie magic. Not a bunch of blindingly lazy/fake CG.
Not saying you should run out and see it but it really IS good as an action flick. And if you'd rather avoid, as it is a hair over two hours, this is the reason YouTube exists. You must watch that end car chase with the bank vault. Very, very cool stuff.
