Harry Potter No. 7 part 2

Just came out of Deathly Hallows part 2, and feeling a little down. Not as bad as after reading the last book, but definately wondering what movies to look forward to from here out.

Anyhoo, I did enjoy this film, but as always with Potter, I enjoyed the book more. There really wasn't that much cut out, but the battle scenes worked better in my head. I saw the 3D version, and it was good, but you don't miss anything in 2D. Action was good, CGI was good and unobtrusive. Plot was... well, everyone knows the plot. Acting was solid without being outstanding. All in all a good night out. The most satisfying potter outing since Goblet of Fire.

Interestingly, my girlfriend came along, even though she hadn't seen the movies or read the books, and she said she could follow most of what was happening. I would have thought non-Potterphiles would have been left bamboozled.

No point reccomending this. If you like Potter you WILL be seeing this, if your not a fan, you will avoid the cinemas for a couple of weeks, and regularly pass comment on how sad 40 year old guys look getting excited about the adventures of a boy wizard. (then you'll go see it anyway to see what the fuss is about.)

So I've successfully avoided all Harry Potter related media up until recently when i watched the first 4 in one sitting. I had a loooong plane flight and the airline had the first seven (or is it 8) as options so I figured I'd give them a shot. I don't regret watching them but in no sense am I a fan. On the return trip I'll finish out the rest and see how i feel about the franchise. Turkish Airlines is friggin awesome....

Now the top opening day earner at 92 million. Beat second place by about 20 million bucks. Wow.
