I have a two year old female scottie that has a hereditary digestive disease. She is on spironolactone 12.5mg 2x a day - lasix 12.5mg.2x a day metronidazole 125mg. 2x a day and pred 10mg. 1x a day. Her diet is Hill's prescription r/d and can not eat any chicken, beef or pork. Each week I have to take her in to the vets to have the fluid drained from her (it is clear in color). She has been like this for over ten weeks now and her blood count has not gone up. I do see her becoming more active and my vet does not think that she is going to get any better, even thinks it's a few weeks and she'll have to be put down.
