I recently had my 14 year old female diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I opted for the radioactive iodine treatment. It sounds terrible but it is just an injection and the success rate is 98%. I can tell you that she is totally cured. Her one month and 3 month followup thyroid tests showed she was now perfectly normal. She is back to her normal self.
