Hi,
My dog was treated by a conventenal vet for this complaint some time back. Although many dogs with this seem to die about 2 years after diagnoses she is still going strong.
The treatment was horrible and required me giving tablets (Lysodren, I believe) which I had to wear rubber gloves to handle as they were so toxic. I would be interested to know also if there were any alternative treatments.
I must say I can't complain as she was treated when she was 8/9 yrs and she is now 14.
She has a really bed heart murmur which I think was caused by the severity of the treatment but I can't really say for sure.
At least she is still with me and aging gracefully and normally.

PS She is Candy a Border Collie
