I have a 1-yr old Rhodesian Ridgeback that has been getting warts caused by the papillamo virus. My vet says that this is very uncommon in younger dogs, and that it suggests a genetic defect in his immune system. While the warts are ugly, they do not pose any real threat, however, his immune system should be able to fight them off. I need to find out how to build his immune system up. Can anyone help me? If it doesn't get stronger, not only will he need chemotherapy, but he will be susceptible to other more serious diseases.
Please advise,
Hilary
