Response to Re: Desperate Maria - Extreme itchiness and licking in cocker spaniel

HI ! I really appreciate your reply.

Sandy was tested for thyroid and no problems were found with it.

When I first posted my question back in December Sandy´s health was declining, I was so desperate and frustrated I was ready to put her to sleep. I had taken her to see 5 different vets who couldn´t find what was wrong with her... I refused to give her anymore cortisone shots, because they are so bad for them on the long run. I did a lot of reading...

Thanks to people like you and others who have been so helpful and generous giving me all sorts of leads I embarked in a long journey trying to find "the cure".

Today, 5 months later, I can say we´re close to winning the battle to whatever she has had...
There´s no final diagnosis, I can only say that by switching her to an all raw diet has truly made a difference (you can check www.phdproducts.com - they are truly devoted to the well-being of our pets... I am so thankful to them.) Sandy still refuses to eat raw food, changing her diet hasn´t been easy for her....), but I can truly see results.

Befor: She had a grayish film in her eyes, was kind of letargic, looked tired and depressed and the itching and licking were terrible, she had hurt herself so badly mostly on the right side of her body, I don´t understand why...

Now, the energy is back, the film in her eyes is almost gone, doesn´t look depressed, she looks happy and is as playful as years ago, and if we talk about her coat, its shinning and lookig healthy again, even the black spots on her tummy are vanishing.

Sandy is under the care of a holistic vet, that´s the approach I decided to take "to go natural".

In Sandy´s diet I include the following:

- raw meat mixed with a few veggies and the dry food from Phd Products (1/4 cup)
- supplements
- SeaMeal (by Solid Gold) (just a pinch twice a day)
- all of the above mixed with olive or safflower oil
- homeopathy (I have learned to use it, to her benefit and mine) I am truly impressed by the results...
- one session with Dr. Verna, her vet who is also chiropractor (to unblock energy and for alignment... and Sandy truly loved it ..)
- Reiki sessions - which I do myself, whenever she lets me. Animals are truly wise and honest and if she doesn´t need it she will let me know.
- and the most important of all "TLC" (tender and loving care) which I have no problem giving to her.
I do talk to her a lot and she seems to understand what I´m telling her. I ask for her permission to do new things to her.
When I started giving homeopathy she was very open to it.
Hope it´s all clear to you.
Good luck !
MRosa
