Response to cat not responding to antibiotics....may lose foot |

Dear Friend,
Is there anyway your vet can get a tissue sample or bacteria sample and send it to Cornell. Cornell has a vet school and a kitty hotline. 1-800-kitty-dr (I believe that the phone is staffed Monday, Wednesday & Friday), I not sure of the hours. Some of the antibiotics that I am familiar with are amoxy, baytril (not sure of the spelling), clindomyacin (not sure of spelling here either, sorry). The last two antibiotics are very strong to the best of my knowledge. You might want to contact Cornell via the kitty hotline and ask what you should do, what your next step it. My understanding is that there is an animal "emergency clinic" in the Boston area. The name of the clinic is the ANGELL clinic. I believe that they have a website (angell.com with a phone number). You might want to call them and see what they can suggest. Hey, you never know, maybe a phone call will help your cat. I've heard that the following place is good. I believe that they practice alternatice medicine. They are located in Great Barington, Ma. I don't know where you live but maybe you can call them and she what they have to say. Maybe they can suggest similiar doctors in your area. The number is 413-528-8020. Best of Luck. Sincerely, | |
