Thank you so much for your response, Donna. I have often wondered about vaccines myself. Just to add a little more info tho..when my dog was a pupppy he accidentally ate some Diazenon (ant and flea poison) and I almost lost him. I did save him with pepto bismal, gatoraide, pennicillian and B12 shots and when he was finally strong enough to eat on his own I gave him Ensure (the vet gave me no hope and wanted to put him down). I have often wondered if this poisoning incident has had some long term effects (ie..fly biting). I have a question for you..how do you avoid giving rabies shots if it's a law that you vaccinate all your animals every year? Where I used to live (Alabama), there was a regular patrol to check all animals for rabies vaccinations every year. I'm not sure if it's a law here (Alberta, Canada) but I will check and see. Again, thank you so much for any information you can give me.
