Response to HELP!!!!

Hi, I'm not a medical practicioner so I'm just offering this as something for you to explore. From what I understand, ear infections are sometimes the way allergic reactions manifest in dogs that are allergic to grains. You may want to rotate the food and see how the puppy reacts after a week or so. Also, something else to consider...How would you like to be in a garage without fresh air or sun all day? I wouldn't. Someplace else may not specifically help the ears, but it would definately help the dogs overall health. Finally, this breed is over bread and very likely inbread so they are suseptible to a host of health problems that other breed & mixed breeds arent'. I suggest you find a different vet that knows about these issues. If you begin now, while the pup is still young, you have a much better chance of having your new friend around for a very long time. Be very careful to simply treat the ailment with antibiotics, which will eventually hurt the dogs immune system.

A book reco: The Vetrinarians' Guide to Natural Remedies for Dogs. By Martin Zucker Here's what this book says:

"Chronic ear problems, when both ears are involved, indicate allergies, an ailing liver or kidneys or someother internal disorder....calls for digging down to the cause. Many vets regard allergies as a common tirgger of ear infections....there is often an underlying yeast infection which also needs to be treated." The book goes on to say that treatment with antibiotcs often results in reoccurance or gastrointestinal sysmtons with diarrhea and vomiting. Stress is often a cause.

feed your dog a better diet and find a vet with a holistic approach!
