      My sharpei/lab mix used to loose 3/4 of her hair every January. I took her to a dermatologist over a period of about 2 years and spent several thousand dollars. I tried new diets, new shampoos, allergy shots, and many other things. What worked best was moving to a new house with hardwood floors. She hasn't lost her hair now in 5 years.
