Alex had retrieved all his arrows by the time Jeremy reached him. Now he paused listening and studying Jeremy intently while he apologized. When Jeremy finished speaking Alexander continued studying him for a few more moments trying to decide if he really meant what he’d said. Alex finally decided Jeremy had meant all he’d said.
“Jeremy, I accept your apology. However, most of what happened is really my fault. I'm still new at teaching archery. I usually shield the area where I choose to teach and forgot to do so with you. So I was ahh still am angry with myself for forgeting to do that but I was also angry with you for playing around. I hope you will forgive me for not protecting you and the others properly. Come let’s take these back to where we were.”
He started back to where they’d been standing then resumed speaking, glancing at Jeremy as he did so.
“I think we both need to sit for a spell and calm down so I will accept your invitation and join you by the fire while you eat. Later, if you still want a lesson tonight, we’ll try again. I have no idea what a Sna-snicker’s bar is or what you mean by Mah-metallica or CD. You have piqued my curiosity, Jeremy.”
By this time they’d reached where they’d been and Alex lay his bow and quiver on the ground beside Jeremy’s bow. “Come, Jeremy, I wish to see how everyone else is fairing this evening as well.”
He led the way to the fire paused and considered where everyone was sitting and what he knew about them so far then sat down by Kato thinking that might be the safest spot at the moment if Jeremy chose to sit by him that is.
