Response to Moving into morning

It was always best to watch, listen, and learn; at least that’s what Kato’s adventuring friends had constantly instilled on him. It was the only way that one was going to learn what was happening around him, who it was happening to, and how it was happening.

It was all very strange, and although he was compelled to intervene and ask questions, he decided to remain quiet, and simply watch. The emotions between Soran and Rowan were quite unusual, and simply didn’t click with the magic user at the moment, although in the long run, especially after hearing various conversations, he did manage to piece together some of the puzzle.

That was when he realized that Soran had somehow become more than a friend to Rowan, and it also seemed that Jeremy was, or had been, part of the equation. Cas and Eremis were equally interesting. Actually the group on the whole was quite interesting. At least Jeremy was learning how to handle the bow thanks to Alex’s intervention, or trying to as Kato watched a stray arrow headed in the vicinity of some people. Fortunately no one got hurt, but it sure seemed that the youth had intended for that arrow to go astray.

Again, he couldn’t judge anyone at the moment. He was only afforded the hospitality of watching this most unusual spectacle. When some of them joined him around the campfire he listened carefully, either agreeing with them silently or simply nodding or shaking his head to any questions posed. Eventually nighttime did draw near, and Kato decided to spend the night out in the open air.

He spotted Xue with some other animals and merely nodded his head in her direction before retiring for the night. He opened up his bed role, climbed in, and went to sleep.

The aroma of java woke him up as he spotted Jeremy at the campfire. Kato went down to the stream to wash up, and when he returned he spotted Darlanta, and went to her side when she motioned toward him. She handed him some eggs as well as mixed fruit. Kato thanked the druidess as he proceeded toward the campfire.

“Good morning Jeremy,” Kato stated as he found some pans and started to cook the eggs. “Darlanta was kind enough to give us eggs and fruit for our breakfast.” He filled his own cup of java, and raised it to the youth once he had taken a sip. “Good job Jeremy. I can’t stand any morning without java or I’m a complete wreck.”

Soon he spooned out some eggs for Jeremy as well as some fruit, and the two of them ate while awaiting the appearance of the other members.
