The stinking cloud spell that Kato had summoned worked like a charm, and he realized that it would be sometime before the noxious cloud dissipated, and the guards resumed their search. Xue seemed as if she wanted to take on the guards, but in the end, they continued their search until they finally caught up with the adversary.
The scene wasn’t a pretty one at first considering that Soran was being held captive as well as Alex. Two flying daggers suddenly appeared out of nowhere disposing of two of their captors. Xue, followed immediately by Kato quickly went into battle. As in Bizmar, the thugs weren’t that proficient with weapons, and it was senseless for Kato to even think of using a spell. He withdrew his sword, and with the help of Xue, Rowan, and the others, quickly had matters under control.
The advent of the one known as Huck didn’t seem that unusual until Kato heard Xue’s statement about the way he dressed funny. Although the mage wasn’t sure what that meant, he decided to simply follow along for now until he could piece more of the puzzle together. For the moment he and Xue simply stood guard, and it was at that moment that Cas and Eremis showed up.
Eremis’ demeanor of being quiet, scared and skittish quickly disappeared as he suddenly started working on Alex. Perhaps there was hope for the healer, for now he was all business, and was able to take the matter into his own hands, giving directions as to what should be done, and how time was of the importance. Perhaps Eremis simply needed to be engulfed into the healing world at all times, for this transformation from meek Eremis to “I’m in charge here” Eremis was quite unusual. Regardless, the young healer knew what he was doing, and knew how to attend to those injured.
As sounds of footsteps attracted their attention it was then imperative that they quickly be on their way. The one known as Huck led the way, while Kato initiated a levitation spell allowing him to move Alex without having to carry the young man. They quickly arrived at an abandoned run down home, and the group quickly made their way in. Eremis quickly went to work on any that were injured, again proving his own metal to Kato who was quite astonished at such a transformation. Again it was Eremis that took control with inquiring questions as to the why’s of the whole incident. Kato now understood, once he heard Soran’s reply, why the one known as Riley was so interested in the broach.
And as soon as he thought about the incident, the one known as Huck addressed Rowan, telling him that she was known as Weave, and was a woman who could lead him to the whereabouts of the person who had robbed Talem’s jewelry shop, and had murdered his son…..for a price.
Kato simply cocked his head at this information. Riley was quite interested in the broach. Could he possibly be the one that had robbed the jewelry shop? He wasn’t sure, and he wasn’t about to offer up any information until he heard what Rowan decided to do. Obviously Weave didn’t know he had used one of his spells to overhear the conversation. The only ace Weave had was the whereabouts of Riley, if in fact he was the one behind all of this.
Xue took off to inform Jeremy of their whereabouts while Cas asked for directions on finding the closest place to get food for all of them. This was becoming quite interesting on the whole, and they had just entered the city. This would be fun.
