If you're insecure about the single guy with a cat thing, there are some really cool cats that you can train to go outside on a leash, that would make girls' heads turn. You could get a Cornish Rex or a Devon Rex. They're really cool because they have curly hair like sheep. You could also get a Sphynx. They're an Ancient Egyptian cat. But they're also very expensive and since you don't have a lot of mon-ay, that might be out. I'm sorry your landlord won't let you have a dog. He or she is very ignorant because there are some dog breeds, even really big ones, that are more suitable for apartments than some cats.
No need to take a cat out on a leash- merely talking about your cat while on a date will elicit similar pet-ownership stories from the chick, and a bond will be created.
I just started dating a guy who won big points when he told me he had 2 cats. I think tOdd's confused. It's single guy with 3 or more cats that is scary.
BTW, I am "allergic" too. I have 2 cats (Ringo is 11 yrs. and George is 4 weeks old) you get over being allergic the more you are exposed. The only time I have a reaction now is if I've been away form them for more than a week or if I try to prove I'm no longer allergic and pick up Ringo and rub him on my eyes. I've done that twice...I never learn.
