Hi, Sorry if this is a frequently asked question but can anyone tell me what the life span of a guinea pig is?

My children recently lost one of ours due to a stroke (he was very old but we don’t know exactly how old) and they’re very concerned about their 2 year old. I’ve heard that guinea pigs live for 10 years or more and I’m hoping to reassure my kids that this shouldn’t happen to Godzilla any time soon.

Guines pigs don't live to be ten - more likely 5 is a good average life span for a gunea pig....

they can live to ten+ but the avrage age is 3-5

i hade a guinea pig that lived to 11 and that is how old they can get not any older than that that is wut the vet told me.

A guinea pig is a kind of smal rodent. They came from South America. They r great pets and r easy to take care of. But to warn u they do shed trust me I have one myself. You should have a pretty big cage if u r going to get one. But beware they do bite. If u scrach them on the lower back they purr. When u hold them a long time they will start to squeak a high pitch squeak. But let me tell u for the last time THEY MAKE GREAT PETS!! Animal lovers out there I'm one myself and I luv animals. I have 7 and they r all in the house.

HI I was told that G. Pigs would live 5-10 years (about 8).. I would just tell your kids that its okay but hes healthy.. to prove to them that he is (or isnt) bring it to the vet for a checkup.. then if everything is fine then they will be okay... hope i helped
