Hi Everybody,

The August date sounds good to us. Count us in. I will warn you that there can be some really flat days in August though. I guess that's true of most places on the Bay. Fortunately the wind usually shows up late in the day.

As far as launch ramps and parking, there is a ramp at Urbanna Marine and last time I checked it was in good shape. I'm afaid it's been many years since I used it. There is street parking that is perfectly safe. I've never heard of any problems, even during Oyster festival.

Speaking of Oysters, the roast may or may not work out. There has been a serious oyster shortage in recent years and even the ones at Oyster Festival have come from the Gulf of Mexico, etc. The other problem comes if you believe in the "only months with an R in them" theory. I didn't pay attention to this for a while but there is definately a difference in the oysters. Would maybe steamed crabs be a suitable substitute? Just a thought.

Obviously there will be expenses here and there and I sure think a registration/participation fee is not out of line. Let us know what you decide.

We are looking forward to August and meeting everyone!

Gary

I like the steamed crab idea.

I was also thinking about the "R" rule of thumb, a few days ago. Steamed Crabs is certainly acceptable to us.
