I'm fixing a model 25 for a friend of mine at the moment. It needs a lot of TLC. This gun has not been used in like 20 years so when I went to shoot there was nothing. I put some oil in it and let it sit a few minutes. Presto it was working. But I chronied it at only 208fps!!! Thats pretty sad. I know for a fact the model 25 should be doing more around 300fps+. So anyway I took it apart(I still have it apart now) but I can't figure out why it is shooting so weak. The spring is still very strong and the rubber piston seal is still in 100% tip top shape. Do any of you know what could be the problem? Thanks for any advice you can give me.
without looking at it... I would think you are losing enuf air past the plunger that your velocity suffers a bit....
try running forward while you are firing... that should gain you another 3-5 feet per second.... Damn hard to be accurate while running tho! LOL
Don't mind me....(G)

lol thanks for the advice. I guess I'll just put it back together as is and give it back to him. I'll put a little moly lube one the spring. Maybe it will make a little difference.

Hey RM
That thing is like an old car.It just ain't going to work like new with just some oil.It looks like it is doing ok if it is an older model 25.To get it up to par it would need a rebuild like an old car.At least it shoots fairly good.Like Rolf said run with it LOL
