TEXT FROM WEBPAGE READS...

"The Model 108 first appeared in 1939 as the "Lone Scout"... but the Boy Scouts of America complained about this and the Model was dropped. In the same year, 1939, Daisy continued production... calling the model 108-39 as the "Lightning Loader"

Can anyone tell me how to distinguish between a "Lone Scout" and a "Lightning Loader"? I have one of these guns; it was mine as a child. Cannot recall when I got it. It has two patent nos. on it: 880,555 and 1,062,855 and was manufactured in Plymouth, Mich.

Daisy Lone Scout

The quick way is to look on the barrel where you see the Pat. Numbers and it will be printed "Lone Scout"

108-39

Hi
To my understanding they are both the same rifle. They are both lighting loaders but the lone scout was only made for one year with the name lone scout on it as the Boy Scouts complained about it.Daisy took the name off the next year.

Not a Lone Scout

Thanks for the info. My rifle has nothing other than the patent nos. and the Daisy carbine 108 model 39 on it. Will assume that it is not a Lone Scout.
