Scotland Daisy model 250

I think the gun you have is a daisy model 250, made in scotland for daisy. It is a breakbarrel, swingle shot, I have 2 of these rifles. One is a match rifle. These were made in scotland from the Diana tools from Germany after WWII. The Diana plant was stripped by the French and English at the end of the war, The English part ended up in scotland. Scotland made the guns for daisy.I am sure they made some for themselves to sell. After they got through making guns they dumped all the Diana tool works in the ocean. I was told this by a retired Daisy employee who is now dead.See if your rifle is not marked Daisy Made in Scotland or Diana.Your gun could be a true Diana, made in Germany, before WWII.Or even after WWII when Diana set up their factory. I am basing this on the model 250, which is the same model # as my 2 guns.

Scottish Daisy 250

Since you've already described the marking on your gun, we know it was made by Millard Brothers (Milbro). In the 60's or so, they made for Daisy several models that were the same items as sold under the "Diana" name in the UK. I'd think your 250 should do about 500 fps in .177 - you may find some parts (e.g. seals, springs) that would interchange with the Model 25 German "real" Diana.
A possible parts source is www.jgairguns.biz

Daisy model made in scottland 250

That looks really really nice. It must be worth something if you are going through this much trouble to get it back in shape. Can you send a pick of the end of the barrell and the writings on the barrell. My writing says ".22 CAL MADE FOR DAISY IN SCOTLAND 250" I am thinking there are rare. Who knows how many were shipped over here. The index on this site only has "230" which looks simular which I believe is a smaller caliber. Is the index up to date or is it just a list of what Daisy made here in the states?

My mistake, the 230 is the same caliber. My barrel length is 25.5 in. I may be interested in refinishing mine also. I'll get with you if I do.

this gun means a lot to me , it was my first gun

December 22 2006, 1:43 PM

and also belonged to my granda . i dont think the gun is worht much $$ maybe like $70 in 90% but this has a ton of setamantial value . i got it some time ago and even when i was a teen i wanted to refinish it so i fianaly fixed it up and i should beable to have it back together by sunday . im not sure if they are rare but this is the only one i've ever seen around here . it not to bad to refinish one , and even the main piston seal can be homeamde form leather and a die set . let me know if you need any pointer on the rebuild . id offer to have you send it here for a rework but i live in michigan and any air gun over .18 is considerd a firearm and cant be mailed . my barrel says the same as yours .

There is no sentimental attached to mine. Does your have the 1.5"in. site cover like mine? This one shoots realy hard and has a good solid sound to it. It probably hasn't been shot in years until it was shot yesterday. It was given to me by a friend, and just trying to find out what I have.

These guns we noted for their had shooting and very accurate. I have 2 one is a match gun and is stsmped MATCH on the barrel. What litle I know I have posted here before. The match gun came from an estate auction about 15 years ago. The other I bought from a friend, he had bought it at an estate auction also. The rest is verbal history.
