I was at a garage sale yesterday, and found a air rifle that looks just like a SKS. Heavy thing, but really built to last it appears. It pumps from the bar under the barrel, and the bolt opened to load. The rear sight has both elevation and windage, and the front sight enclicled by a medal ring. Shot it once when I got home. WOW, does that thing have a wallup. Anyone know who builds these, where there from ? Looks pretty much like new. Thanks Dixie

Is it possible you could post a pic? I might be able to help you out if I can see what it looks like.

Sounds like a Chinese model.

There are several of them that fit the general description.

I have one marked HERCULES.

They are fairly powerful, up to about 800 fps in .177.

They are not as nicely finished as European guns but are not a bad value for a shooter.

Triggers are usually long and hard but I have had a couple of nice ones.

I have always had trouble sighting them in, they usually hit very high at less than 50 yards or MORE!.

You can make a new front sight out of a long machine screw to solve the problem.

If the gun is one that has a ring around the front sight and it is in the way you can just grind it off about half way up.

Most have sling swivels but take a very narrow sling.

Gary
