Hi! I'm new to this forum (and new to BB guns), so please excuse my lack of knowledge! I was hoping someone here would be able to help me out with some information. I recently bought a Daisy model 88 lever action BB gun at an estate auction for my son, who just turned 8 (and we've been having a great time with it shooting cans in the back yard!) I've googled this, looked on the value page of this site, looked on some online auction sites, and searched this forum, but I can't find any information on this model of BB gun. It has a wood stock and is in great condition, with only a few very minor scratches on the stock and on the lever. And, as I said above, it works perfectly and we've been having a lot of fun with it. Does anyone know what year it was made and how much it is worth? I won the bid for $35--was I ripped off or did I get a good deal? (though "worth" is a relative term IMHO...we're definitely getting our $35 worth of enjoyment from it...much more fun than many more expensive "toys" ) Thanks!

I got one at an auction today for $30- so I guess I didn't overpay too much anyway... but I can't find anything on them either. Let me know if you find anything and I will do the same!

Daisy Mod #88

I believe the Daisy Mod #88 was mfg in 1959-60 with a 2 power scope, plastic stock, painted metal and holds 1000 BB's.
Minimum value $50. Hope this is accurate and helps.

Daisy Model 88

I know I am responding to an old post however I have the same problem, lack of literature information on the Model 88. Mine has wood Monte Carlo style stock (although the stock is smaller than that found on the Models 95 & 96), a wood forearm, and is equipped with a web sling; there are no pre-drilled holes to mount a scope. There is a Model 88 Hunter but it does not look like the Model 88 that I own.

DAISY MODEL 88

I recently received a copy an Alden's ad from the 70's from bbgunner.com showing the Model 88 and it was known as the Daisy Sportsman "88" and sold for $12.90.

I am still on the prowl looking for literature for the Daisy Sportsman "88"; my BB rifle is clearly marked Model 88 so I know this model exists but apparantly literture does not. Amazing.
