This unit is from the 1980s and has been stored in a wholesalers warehouse unsold since then . I opened the package to test the unit since all batteries were long since dead. the target lights up(new 9x battery included) but the 2 cartridges I tried did not work even with new batteries. so this unit should be viewed as a collectors piece only.each cartridge requires 2 evereadt #392 batteries. I believe this unit is from the 1980s' and I haven't seen one for sale in years. Great for a DAISY collector.
