I am looking for information on a Diana pistol. The pistol is 8" long. It has the "Diana" figure stamped on the top of the barrel, along with "Mod. 2" and "British Made". Any help on VINTAGE, VALUE (it's in great cosmetic condition), and HOW IT OPERATES or suggestions on where I might find this information would be appreciated. I attached a couple of pictures. If it would help to see more pictures, send me your e-mail address and I can send more. My direct e-mail address is; kendmail@yahoo.com. Thanks & Regards, Ken _P.S._ If the bottom picture looks a little scrunched, it's probably because I had to format it down 50% to make it fit.

Diana Mdl 2...

August 11 2008, 7:31 PM

This 'replica' of the pre-war German Diana 2 was made by Millard Bros in Scotland after WWII on tooling liberated from the 'real' Diana factory in Rastatt (Millard also made the 'Scottish Daisy' break-barrel rifles). Later when Mayer & Grammelspacher started making airguns again, the Mdl 2 was in their lineup for many years.
To use it, first push in the barrel to cock, then unscrew the little rear cap to load a pellet, then replace the cap and you're ready.
Various firms have made versions of the push-barrel 'Gat-style' pistols which were the first airgun for many Europeans, starting pre-1900 and still going on today!
