Daisy 25, Variant 3 or 4?

I have a Daisy 25. It does not have a pistol grip, nor a movable front sight.
I think that makes it a variant 3 or 4.
One is a "long", the other a "short".
How do I tell the difference?

Long vs Short

November 28 2008, 11:30 PM

The early short slide measures about 6 1/2" from the end of the barrel to the 'clamp' that holds the forend to the barrel.

The long slides are about 3 1/4" from the end of the barrel.

The extra length made them easier to cock.
