I just acquired a Daisy 95 with no sights front or back. Wood furniture. What's up with this gun? Labeled MODEL 95. Are the civilian "quickskill" rifles marked model 2299? I would think they were. What do I have here?
I've read a little on them. Seems they were all marked in some way or another, "US Property"
This thing has no front or rear sights,. but it does have holes in the side of the receiver for a scope.
Are you familiar with the 95s and variants? My blue book mentions none with no sights and a scope.
What you have is a civilian version of the U. S. Army's QuickKill that Daisy supported in the 60's, a highly sucessful training program that prepared GI's for combat in VietNam.
I was a 20-year Marine; we didn't use them because we were too busy with the real stuff. No slur intended here, just a reality check.
