I have an old bb rifle since I was a kid. Its about 35yrs old, looks like a military rifle similer to what was used in the Korian war. Dont know what the militay name would be. There is no makers mark anywhere, and you cock the rifle by pushing the barell down. Posted pic if someone has any clue what it is and who made it.
Thank you!!

Help...anyone know what I have?

You have a Crosman M-1 Carbine w/magazine; that magazine (the metal device hanging down under the rifle) is worth about as much as the gun because the kids were famous for losing them during their mock gun battles in fields etc.; during the first year of issue it was equipped with a wood stock, all other years of manufacture were made of plastic-like wood, which looked more authentic than the wood stocks.

The wood stock models were manufactured in 1966-67; the "Croswood" (read plastic)stock models were manufactured from 1968-76.

The rifle is loaded in one of the holes on top of the forearm stock (22 B-B capacity), the the other hole is for oiling, and the magazine is used to store up to 180 B-B's.

When cocking the rifle, do not push it into the ground or against any hard object because you will clog the barrel or damage the front sights; you just grasp the forearm with one hand and pull back on the barrel until it is firmly cocked; when moving the barrel forward do not slam it forward, just ease it into place, making sure during the cocking process that you keep the muzzle clear of your fingers and hand because sometimes, as the rifles become old, they have a tendency to fire as you move the barrel forward with undue force.

I acquired one of my specimen's w/magazine at auction for $52.00 on Oct 5, 2009, a second one for $125 at auction, and a 3d one for $70 at auction and am awaiting receipt of those two, one w/o the magazine but I am currently chasing a plastic replica magazine.

So it's anyone's guess how much you might get if you put it up for auction; condition is everything.

Will pretty much covered your question.

They are a nice looking airgun and very popular with collectors.

You are lucky to have the magazine with it.
