Daisy Model 142

What you have is a Model 142, variation 1, w/blued frame and barrel and overstamped markings (mfg 1953 at Plymouth, Mich). According to Gary Garber's beautiful "Enclopedia of Daisy Plymouth Guns,", you have a transition gun in that it falls between the last Model No 141 and the first regular production No. 142, and the only difference between a normal variation 2 No 142 and this rifle is in the frame markings. He further indicates that the second number "1" in the No 141 has been overstamped with a "2" and the words "Forced Feed" have been overstamped with about 33 vertical lines so that it is illegible.
