Love love aquaphor. I work in derm and suggest it all the time. Do not put a lotion, is will sting and if it raw enough a cream may sting too. I would take a washcloth, tepid water and hold it onto the skin as long as she will let you and then immediately apply aquaphor, or you can do vaseline. It is healing and will also protect the area from drool. If this doesn't help you can get some otc hydrocortisone 1% ointment and apply it, once would probably do the trick and just wait at least an hour before letting her use a pacifier if you use a topcial steriod because it needs to absorb and I don't want her to get it in her mouth.
