Thanks for chiming in. Ive never used the Italian mix and you are the second person to mention it on here so Im game. OMG Yukon gold spuds are my fav to so thanks so much for sharing this.
I do have a pressure cooker and I often cook falling-off-the-bone chicken or beef. If the slow cooker does anything like the pressure cooker, then Im totally excited.
Thanks again for sharing.
p.s., I don't think you're in for a tough time with ds and his sleep. Maybe you can try sitting with him for a bit. Reading him one story and then leaving the room. Come back in to check on him ever so often but don't stick around or maybe you've tried that already. I think that he will learn again to put himself to sleep. I think that kids tend to have developmental spurts throughout their childhood and some of these may coincide with "events" that end up looking like "we" did the wrong thing and now they've regressed. It may have just been a coincidence and not anything that "you" caused, to happen.
I think it's such a beautiful thing to just hold your baby (yes your 4 yr old baby) till he falls asleep in your arms or even just in your presence and yes, it may have caused a bit of a headache for you, and yes it's tough to get over but just think that in 10 yrs from now when he's a young man and quite independant, all you'll have are those memories of precious moments when you held him and gently rocked and sang him to sleep. I swear, I've never heard of a parent who had to do that to their teenaged kid so as tough as it is, it WILL work out.
The question is just, sooner or later? For me, I don't bother about it anymore. Some nights are great and some are tough. On Friday last, ds #2 woke up at 1:00 a.m. Finally I got him back to sleep at 5:00 a.m. then I had to carry on the day as usual. I had to go to work but I was awake continuously since 1:00. Yep, it's tough, but this too shall pass. Ds #1 was a nightmare sleeper, now he sleeps like a champ. I expect the same of ds #2. The difference this time around is that I'm not gonna make myself crazy about it. It's friggin' tough, but I'll get through it.
Hugs to you,
Hopefully things will turn around for the better very soon.
