Response to Fleur and Renata---I found this dept at CHOP, looks promising ?
Can't tell 100% but it looks like the neuropsychs here deal mainly with brain injury.
Be sure they do work with kids that do NOT have brain injury from accident. There is a difference in experience and specialty. You want someone that has experience in the neuropsych testing to give you a proper dx to get to the bottom of the concerns you have with DS.
Typically it is a long testing process - all day or part of the day with breaks as needed depending on the child. You have a few areas of concern and they should go over all of this with you at a parent- interview prior to them meeting DS.
You should get a list of the tests that they will give DS, there are many varied ones depending on the parent-intake that you give them, they might also ask for info from teachers - which is why you want to be careful here...(see my post above)
Let me know if you have questions.... You might want to talk to a couple of Dr's and get a feel for their style and see who you like and feel comfortable with....
