It takes me SO long to type on my nook, I really am old LOL !! I am going to check the local library for summer reading programs. It's quite a small library although there is a larger one about 30 mins away, may be worth joining that one too (different county). DS wants to be a volunteer at an animal resuce center that we visited. The woman was lovely, alas, he has to be 8 to volunteer, he asked, "do you think she will know that 6 is less than 8 ?" Had to laugh at that
I focus too much sometimes on academics I think. I'm horribly competative myself (in a nice way !!)
I would hate that to brush off on DS. I just worry sometimes that he lags behind in some areas, he's one of the youngest in the class (June birthday) and I so want to give him a head start .... so that he doesn't struggle and can enjoy school.
I also want him to enjoy his summer - which I am sure he will given that he'll be with me 24-7 (he's excited about that !). He has many plans for the summer
Thanks again for the book rec. I have one about DNA (comic type book) that he likes. He has also just recently got into Terry Denton "The cat on the mat is flat." Thinks it's hysterical and it's easy reading .... although of course I still read it to him
Thanks Cy, as always, for your thoughful and insightful reply
