What concerns me a little is that her PAP has never been abnormal. I thought colposcopy is usually done when the PAP shows some abnormality, not just for a positive HPV test, so I'm wondering why the doc is doing it. But maybe he's being extra cautious because the HPV has re-emerged, and it is the high-risk type. Maybe he knows that only this procedure will relieve my DD's anxiety. He's been her doc for years and knows her well.
