I'm a horrible speller and make tons of mistakes with grammar. I'm constantly looking things up (dangling prep I know I know). .... and does the period in the previous sentence go in or out of the parenthesis and is there ever a right time to use "..."? Does that "?" go before or after the quotations and shoud the "?" mark belong in quotations at all? Are they even called quotations?
I think like most language skills you need to learn them when you are young. I just think it is how you first learn. I can do a lot of math problems in my head quickly that others can't do on paper. I don't judge people that can't as less intelligent and I have no problem correcting someone trying to calculate a discount or a tip.
So, yes (comma?I use way too many commas) correct! It's a gift to be able to spell well (see I could have said good, but caught it) and knowing the rules of grammar is brilliant. (brilliance?) If I were your boss I would validate and appreciate your effort.
