Yes, I do keep notes.
I just remembered that I'm entitled to ask for another evaluation at the district's expense, so I'll do this asap.
I think the problem is going to be that the district is only obligated to help with this issue if he is physically unable to take notes, or if his behavior causes other kids not to learn. He apparently is able to take notes. His teacher, who is a great advocate for him, says he takes very good notes, and even the other observers who described this behavior said that he was keeping up with class and not distracting the other kids. So it appears that the problem with these behaviors, at least for now, is that they make him "the weird kid" and a potential target. I'll watch to see if this changes, though.
Good question about the meds. Since he is learning, I might not go that way. It might be better to try the tape, squishy balls, etc.
