Response to Some quick thoughts -
DS is on 3 allergy meds because one med (nasonex) didnt help his nasal congestion, then #2 was added for an asthma-like cough, and he was recently placed on a third for the nasal congestion. He is still extremely nasally congested. We saw the ENT during the winter, and he had an xray of his adenoids, but they were borderline for surgery. He wasnt as stuffed up then, though. Im suspecting this is seasonal. We are in a drought where I live, and the pollen count is way up as a result. I just got referred to an allergist, so this will be the next step.
As for the sleep, I dont lay with him. I sit on the chair in his room. We have a definite routine, and he does have a few sleep buddies.
Last night, I didnt give him the Claritin and I put him to sleep in his old crib. He fell asleep quickly and had no poop accidents today (the first time in a month or more) So maybe the claritin really does ramp him up. Today was the best day he has had in a while, and his behavior was like his old self again. I attribute it all to sleeping better.
Have you ever read a proper dose of melatonin for an almost 4 y/o? I havent been able to find one, and my pedi doesnt believe in anything herbal.
Ive been waiting to read how summer camp went (maybe I missed your post?)
