When an individual fears the law, that individual loses. They lose in the sense that the creators of the law win, the creators of the law being those in power. The dominant instituional power creates law in order to keep their power, in essence by controlling those who have little or no power themselves. The law then, is a set of rules and conditions used to coerce the "masses" in order that they have a fear and respect of the domiant power. Therefore when one fears the law, they lose to the power system, the power system is in no way looking out for anyone other than themselves and their power structure. The fact that a certain act or a certain substance may be illegal in a society, says virtually nothing about the act or substance itself. All that it really amounts to is whether the power set beleives it to be advantagous or disadvantagous to their overall operation. Now remember, the power structure cares not for the overall well being of their own society, what they care for is the institutional structure of their society and the power that comes with this. Therefore, when we fear the law, we atomatically lose to the power set. Instead one must not be fearful of the law, and must work around its many angles. The greater number that have no fear of the law, the more power that is taken away from the domiant power set, and the easier it is to make real change throughout society. As it stands today, the great majority of our nation fears the laws that a certain set of incredibly arogant, misguided, and greedy men have articulated over the past 200 plus years. Their "laws" then have little to no rationality in my mind, and I shall fear them not, and either should any of you. |
