Socialism Vs Human Nature...

I love the idea of socialism but I don’t understand how it will work in practice. I see the problem as being human nature. Why would the average Joe work when he doesn’t have any incentive too? Granted, there is the common good, but I don’t think that his efforts will be seen in a six billion global population. How do you suppose that we motivate him? I think we need the masses to be amazed by colourful lights, to motivate them to produce not only those colourful lights but also produce necessary good for us all.

What -- other than financial reward -- motivates you today? Creativity, solidarity, helping others, self-actualization. All of these are Marxist values and true humanistic motivators even today.
