I know this isn't really on topic but I want to let lots of people know about this: www.skepticsannotatedbible.com

You can click any part of the bible, and on the side it shows all the contradictions and things like that. Or you can just click "contradictions" or everything next to it, and it shows all the contradictions, or if you clicked for example "homosexuallity" it would show everything referring to homosexuallity.

Yes,much of the bible is wrong and should not be acceped by christians, there have always been communists and socialists that consider themselfs christian and I am one of them,my christian beliefs are very liberal compared to conventional christianity.I see Christ as one of the first socialists however,he didn't say anything about politics,he didn't have to,his selflish actions demonstrated how all people should be,his life and teachings represent him as a conceptual socialist to me and should be taught as such to christians.
As a christian myself I only believe/support 4 books out of the bible, mathew, mark, luke, and john,(new testament).Christianity has screwed itself by adhereing/believing in to much of the old testament. From a purely anilitical and logical perspective the relevence of the truth of the books I support in my aclaimed faith don't even matter from my own point of view but yet,I still can admit to being a christian and supporting christianity solely on the life and teachings of Jesus. The fact of(or not) his authentic existence is not important to me.

Yes, it's a shame that most communists value and share opinions based upon the rejection of reality---to include religion. You cannot create existence out of thin air. To claim as such disproves the axiom (an irrefutable truth) existence exists. It's a shame that they require the very same reality that they disdain in order to reject it. Capitalism is the only way to succeed. Prove me wrong. No one- not even the most "valiant" communist has ever done so.

'Yes, it's a shame that most communists value and share opinions based upon the rejection of reality---to include religion. You cannot create existence out of thin air. To claim as such disproves the axiom (an irrefutable truth) existence exists.'

You are saying some form of intelligent life must have created the world. By this logic I can say who created that intelligent life, and who created the intelligent life before that, etc.,etc. Otherwise you would have to argue that the intelligent life was created out of thin air.

'It's a shame that they require the very same reality that they disdain in order to reject it. Capitalism is the only way to succeed. Prove me wrong. No one- not even the most "valiant" communist has ever done so.'

Capitalism has been a world system for over 200 years, and still hasn't managed to prevent people from dying of hunger despite the fact that there is enough food in the world to feed everyone. If, 'succeeding,' means totally unnessesary deaths, than I don't want to succeed. A lot of people support capitalism as the only way to go without examining its totally obvious but totally preventable failures.
No capitalist has proved me wrong either. In fact on another site I go to a lot of them actually won't respond to my arguments, and often resort to using foolish insults.

Well, I am a strange capitalist, in the fact that I mean no disrespect to communists. I just believe that they are misguided as much as capitalists are. I respect all belief. I just value many things and am passionate in those values, as I'm sure that you are.

Take for instance the computer operating system your using. I'm sure It's Windows. I find it rather ironic that a Communist is perpetuating the existence of Capitalism by using a blatently Capitalist product. Can you imagine if even half of the major companies we had went on strike because they chose to? what would you do? Where would you get your money to distribut the the "common good" of EVERYONE?

Why should I give up my hard earned money (I'm military by the way, so it's extremely hard earned) To the elderly and poor ( people who cannot work). Why should I sacrifice a part of my livlihood so others can bask in the g lory that I provide them?

As far as existence goes, existence exists is an axiom. Meaning you cannot prove it to be untrue as any attempt to do so would prove you to be false. To say that existence is created or was created is to say that it was created from non-existence, or a contradiction in terms. Contridictions nor compromise cannot truly exist as they are wasted on already proven truths.

I am not codemning communism; only trying to understand what motivates individuals to embrace it. The concept truly intrigues me.

I will admit that I did jump the gun and go ape **** in some of these posts. For that, I apologize. I do wish to have some wonderful discussions. Perhaps one of you could persuade me to change sides or vise versa.

As I said before, true capitalism (leissez faire capitalism) has never existed in this world. Just as much as true communism has never existed in this world. You keep saying that capitalism has existed for 200 years. The closest that it has come was in the early 1900's during the industrial revolution. We are in a mixed economy where the government has their hand in the private industry (taxes appropriated dependent upon class) and distributed to other agencies for what they were intended (armies, prevention of initiation of force).

What a surprise. Not much action in this forum- or any communism forum for that matter. Whereareas, the Capitalist forums average over ten times as many registered members. Yet another indicator that you're supporting a dying cause....

First of all the fact that this forum isn't as active is irrelevent. There was a time when people who believed the Earth was round were in a minority, or that space flight was possible, or that evolution was true, there was a time when people who believed in all kinds of things that turned out to be true were in a minority. Let's just try to stick to discussing the merits of the systems we support, their numbers of adherents isn't that relevent.

'Take for instance the computer operating system your using. I'm sure It's Windows. I find it rather ironic that a Communist is perpetuating the existence of Capitalism by using a blatently Capitalist product. Can you imagine if even half of the major companies we had went on strike because they chose to? what would you do? Where would you get your money to distribut the the "common good" of EVERYONE?'

I'll have to use capitalists products one way or the other. Even if I was to go and live in the wild, sooner or later I'll get sick, maybe my asthma will flare up, and I'll have to come back for medicine from the capitalist system. As to the computer, I'll answer your question with a question, what else can I do? I live in Ireland, and believe implementing communism here first would be a disaster and believe that it would be best for communism to start in America first. There is no way for me to communicate with American citizens without utilising something that has been built by the capitalist system. Telephones are built by the capitalist system, so are fax machines etc. Sometimes you have to turn the tools of the enemy into your own tools. Anyway, if this computer was never sold it wouldn't make any difference to the company, it's just one. But if I was very successful in convincing people that capitalism is wrong, well, I'd be hurting capitalism far more than I helped it by buying this computer, (well technically my dad bought it who isn't a communist but anyway.)
As to the question of what if the companies went on strike, if the workers did it would be a disaster. But if the CEO's of these companies decided to, 'go on strike,' then as long as the workers knew the facts the companies could keep going. It is not buisinesses that communists object to, it is the authoritarian nature of buisinesses under the capitalist system that we object to. There can be as many buisinesses as we need, but they all need to be under the democratic management of their own workers.

'Why should I give up my hard earned money (I'm military by the way, so it's extremely hard earned) To the elderly and poor ( people who cannot work). Why should I sacrifice a part of my livlihood so others can bask in the g lory that I provide them?'

If people cannot work, then they need to be provided for. If disability or illness keeps them from working, how is it right that they be neglected? Maybe they would work very hard if they had the ability to do so. As for the elderly, when they did work they may well have served you or me in some way. They may have made the food you eat, they may have built your house, maybe they saved your life in the hospital when you were ill. They served society in their youth, as reward for this they should not have to worry about financial hardships as they grow old. You will be old someday, then you will see the benefits of helping the elderly.

'As I said before, true capitalism (leissez faire capitalism) has never existed in this world. Just as much as true communism has never existed in this world. You keep saying that capitalism has existed for 200 years. The closest that it has come was in the early 1900's during the industrial revolution. We are in a mixed economy where the government has their hand in the private industry (taxes appropriated dependent upon class) and distributed to other agencies for what they were intended (armies, prevention of initiation of force).'

But when the government is involved in the process the system is known as state capitalism. It could be argued that we have a mix of both private and state capitalism in most parts of the world, but I don't agree with either system or a mix of them. I want to keep both private individuals and a government beurocracy out of the decision making process and let all the buisinesses be run by the people democratically.

We don't care what you capitalists think because we know damn well what you think, we have to live in this capitalist S H I T society to survive. We have to play your dumbass capitalist game, we know better than you why capitalisim is inferior and a antiquated system of belief, we have to work in it. It is an elitist system of dog eat dog neanderthal mentality of work, it creates ghetto's and countless social problems that you greedy capitalists ignor. To be a communist/socialist you have to have a heart, that leaves out many people in this world that go to your conservative forums, just read what they post, you can see that they are heartless, greedy selfish bastards.
