The site's gone quiet at the moment, there's only me and another guy called Marx Junior on the communist side, but hopefully things'll pick up again after a while.

How's it going Carpe haven't seen you in a while.

'I'm definantly not a capatalist or support any government in existance and i do have socialist/anarchist agenda but i hate the old style ussr or chinese forms which are just dictatorships.'

The problem is that not enough socialists realise that what they had in the USSR and China wasn't real socialism, and so they try to defend these authoritarian countries which I think is counter-productive.

I'm alrite jus bin a bit quite cos of studies, been up to much yourself?

I agree with you, i think that unless people know the history of theses countries instead of just knowing the popular facts they will be led to believe these are real socialist states. There seems to be a new generation of people who need to be educated in the fake socialist states that are in existance.

One day minds will be reset.

'I'm alrite jus bin a bit quite cos of studies, been up to much yourself?'

Not much, I've a few days off work at the moment so I'm taking it easy. The forums been quiet but I still check in on the place. Democrat DF's after dying, there's been nothing said there over the last few weeks.
Politically I've moved a lot closer to Anarcho-Communism over the last few months. I've always thought it a nice idea but unworkable, but now I'm seriously considering the idea that it might work. So I don't describe myself as Marxist anymore.

Characters like Lenin and Stalin were quite anti-communist. Lenin shut down workers councils that had been created before the Bolshevik takeover, and of course there was the Kronstadt massacre. And Stalin helped crush socialism in Spain. People need to look at the actions of these guys instead of just saying, 'They said they were communists,' which is very primitive reasoning. It's strange that so many communists are defending places like the USSR, doing so actually helps their political opponents.

Yeah the democrat forum has been dead for a long time, all they did was post up huge stories from the news anyway very hard to stay interested.

I to have started looking at anarchism a lot more, it sounds stupid but films like fight club have influenced my political thinking! i've become more interested in the way society is evolving and what people can do to influence what happens in the future.

Its good to know that someone else knows the fine details to the russian revolution, i only know it because of having to study it but it really does open your eyes to what theses people really were.

'Yeah the democrat forum has been dead for a long time, all they did was post up huge stories from the news anyway very hard to stay interested.'

I know it's quite annoying the way some posters never speak their own words they just copy and paste some news article. I've done it sometimes myself, but people who do it all the time I just don't get. It's totally uncreative and unimaginative and I'm just so sick of seeing other people's words. I think part of the reason they do it is because they have an escape if the message of the article is too extreme, if someone starts critisising it they can say, 'Well I didn't write it, I don't agree with all of the article.'

'I to have started looking at anarchism a lot more, it sounds stupid but films like fight club have influenced my political thinking! i've become more interested in the way society is evolving and what people can do to influence what happens in the future.'

Over the last few months I've really come to understand that Anarchism isn't the, 'disorganised mess,' that so many people make it out to be. I haven't seen Fight Club yet, what's it about?

'Its good to know that someone else knows the fine details to the russian revolution, i only know it because of having to study it but it really does open your eyes to what theses people really were.

It's harmful to the cause that communists think the USSR was communist, because an opponent mightn't be able to prove communism is wrong but they can quite easily prove the USSR was wrong.

Fight club

Fight club is a book and film written by chuck palahnuik and is a story about a mans rejection of society, its quite hard to explain but instead of self improvement he wants to destroy himself to find perfection.....yeah i'm bad at this. a famous quote from it is 'Self impovement is masturbation'it's the only hollywood movie that has a anarchist manifesto and shows a kind of organised destructionism which interests me as crazy as it sounds, althrough it contradicts itself in ways and shouldn't be seen as a serious political idea it certainly struck a cord with me and has sparked new ideas within me, I have even been thinking maybe writing a few ideas of my own! I think it may be a bit to early for that through. http://www.chuckpalahniuk.net/workshops/

People have actually been telling me to watch it for a while but I never got around to it. Maybe I might buy it on DVD next time I'm in town. Today's the last day of my holidays, needless to say I'm sad.

I'm one, and there are many others, - uk. However not a supporter of Russia or China, just the idea that people are equal and should be able to determine their own future, and that this is possible. There is no need for minority rule - the problem is that the rich and powerful control so much, including universities and the ideas that dominate our society.

Obsolescent Ideologies

Capitalism is garbage based on a lie.

Communism is trash based on a delusion.

When do you hear capitalists talking about planned obsolescence and how much American consumers loose on depreciation of automobiles every year?

When do you hear Communists saying all workers should know accounting? Are they afraid the workers might think like Capitalists?

The leaders want followers to be dummies. All power games work that way.

I just finished emailing 2500 economists about planned obsolescence and depreciation. I got 14 responses. The system depends on people believing bullsh!t.

Please comprehensively explain why you think capitalism is based on a lie and communism based on a delusion. What is the delusion in communism? What is the economic mode of society that you agree with?

Apparently your knowledge is from some approved 1950's textbook. I am a communist and the USSR was a failed exercise in state capitalism and China has digressed into a bastard form of market socialism, which is quickly becoming a full fledged capitalist country, ruled by markets and capital.
