I signed up to it and started talking about how well Bush was doing, and how bad Clinton was.

It only took them 5 min to kick me off.

They can't stand the truth...

Yeah, Zach, they're all for free speech, as long as you spout only what they want. They're all for a "marketplace of ideas", as long as you're willing to buy only what they want to sell. Reminds you of that old Henry Ford attitude of "They can have whatever color they want as long as it's black", right?

Yeah DU what a joke, bunch of freaks stroking each other.
If you try to debate someone they will kick you out immediately.

It's sometimes a good read, very funny....

I signed up, made one post that stated that the Democrats could have swept the election if they had nominated Joe Leiberman and POP, booted off! FreeRepublic is the same. Dare to say one thing about God and you are history.

Both could be good sites but they only want people to agree with them.

Yeah, it's fairly idiotic to kick someone off for disagreeing alright. Show's how, 'democratic,' the democrats are. I don't think the Reps are any better though, but at least we can all agree on one thing.

Howdy! You are SO right about both DU and FreeRepublic. I was a regular on FreeRepublic, and ended up getting booted too! I was very disappointed to find out that they are no better than the Dim-ocratic Underground.

The DemocRATS and their stupid little DU site is just one big sad sorry joke but FreeRepublic is privatly owned. The DU have no tolerance and can't stand people who are more intelligent than they and who stand up for what is right. FreeRepublic has become more tolerant, (and might be as strict) but if you don't exactly abide by the rules or not be too quick on posting things, then you would be fine. Besides, It's better to piss-off people of the opposite party than of your own.

Republican Forums can be just as bad.

My friend was on a Republican Forum recently, I can't remember which one, and he was banned for saying something in favour of John Kerry. People on this thread are making out that only Democrat forums censor people, there are forums from all political beliefs including Republican that do it.

I found the same kind of intolerance on hannity forum. I can just feel the love over there.
I think truth, much like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder or seeker.
