Hey y'all, I just felt like God opened me up to some things about ministering last night. Now most of y'all probably already know this but here it is... We as children of God are equipped and ready to bring the gospel and minister to any and everybody. And when we proceed with this knowledge of who we are we feel like it doesn't matter who's in our path, if they ain't saved and have a personal relationship with Jesus then some seed is finna be sowed into their lives that they may be saved and have a personal relationship with Jesus. And we won't hesitate to sow that seed. Now there always comes a time to minister to the opposite sex. And it could be that we're not even having a thought of this opposite sex other than to plant seed. Then subtley thoughts and daydreams and even dreams of this person we're trying to minister can occur in a lustful manner. And whether they be of our flesh or by suggestion of the devil, they come. Usually we'll overlook it and continuing spending time to minister to that person. However, more time spent with this person(s) can easily shift the focus to engaing into something other than ministry. So then maybe we should back up to the first uneasy thought that entered into our mind about the person, cuz as soon as this happens that's when we should say "hey, my role in planting seed for this person is to simply intercede for them that someone of the same sex, perhaps, would be drawn by God to minister unto them." Case and point, there's this girl up here at school who is an athiest, and it's been hurting me ever since she first told me whenever I tried to invite her to a Christian event. And I keep wanting to just take her to the side sometime, maybe at lunch or walking to class or somewhere and just ask why she doesn't believe and what causes her to believe God isn't real and just try to share anything I can with her. And this girl is a very beautiful girl and has a certain personna about her that can easily make her attractive or someone who you could hang out and be close with. And probably for that reason, I always get this knot in my stomach and thought in my head saying, "ooh, don't get caught up. it's a trap" every time I see her. I even begin to think that I am incapable of sowing seed into her life and bringing her to Christ. But thank God for His Word! For Jesus said in John 4:37 "and herein is that saying true, One sows and another reaps." So when we do find ourselves away from the objective, we've gotta pray that God will lead the right person at the right time to nourish that seed we planted and watch it grow. It may even be the reverse. We may be the ones to reap the moment of that person being saved. Either way don't be discouraged thinking that you're incapable of ministering effectively to that person and don't be discouraged that if you do begin interceding for that person for someone to come to them and don't see them saved, know that God hears your prayers and believe that He has sent that person on their way. And in going over this in my mind last night, I came to an even fuller reality of why we say girls with girls and guys with guys at the alter, cuz we don't even want to allow there to be a opportunity for temptation. And another note when the time does come to minister to the opposite sex, we must be aware of how our situation appears from the outside looking in. 1 Thess. 5:22 "Abstain from all appearance of evil." Like I said, most of y'all know this, so just keep it in rememberance. Simply a little something on my heart concerning my approach in ministering to people, so I'm sharing it with y'all. Love ya!

Chris
